World Environment Day: The Benefits of Natural Beauty & Wellbeing Products

Tomorrow marks World Environment Day, and it’s the perfect opportunity for us to take stock of how we are treating our planet. How we can take small steps to create a healthier and greener world; cleaning the oceans and reducing our carbon footprint are important, but there’s value in the little things too.

The beauty industry has a huge impact on the earth. Many products on the market are packed full of harmful chemicals such as parabens and sulphates, which can be washed into sewage systems, polluting land and water. These chemicals aren’t just bad for the environment, they can also be harsh and irritating on the skin.

The skin is the largest organ on the human body, so we need to treat it with care, yet so many of us are not aware of the ingredients in our beauty products. At AromaWorks we believe that to care for ourselves we must care for the planet, and we’re committed to developing luxurious products without compromising the environment.

Our formulas are vegan and cruelty-free, plus free from parabens, sulphates, petrochemicals, mineral oils, pesticides, nuts and gluten. Each product is packed full of nature’s best sustainably sourced extracts and essential oils, with no synthetic fragrances, to nourish, cleanse and exfoliate the skin. What’s more, we personally source every ingredient and only partner with suppliers who share our sustainable, responsible and ethical values.

World Environment Day is the perfect excuse to stock up on botanical and nutrient-rich wellbeing and beauty products to nurture your skin from the inside out. Here we have the need-to-know info on our most used ingredients and their key benefits:

Cocoa butter is a key ingredient in our products. It’s gentle on the skin, but also thick and hydrating, and can be found in our Nourish Day and Night Creams. Derived from the cocoa bean, cocoa butter is an antioxidant powerhouse forming a protective barrier over the skin.

It’s amazing for holding in moisture, combatting dullness and reducing stretch marks and scars.

Bergamot oil is sourced from the citrus bergamia tree located in the tropical climates of South East Asia. It has antiseptic, antispasmodic and analgesic (pain-relieving) characteristics, which make it an amazing cleanser for oily skin.

When applied, it can help banish impurities by unclogging pores and balancing sebum levels. Find this magic ointment in our Purity Face Cleanser.

Lavender is a herb native to the Mediterranean, Middle East and India. It’s commonly known for its pleasant, sweet and floral smell, but there is more to this herb than just its fragrant scent. It is truly multipurpose and we use it in our skincare products. When applied to the skin lavender has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help treat acne and soothe inflamed skin, scars, eczema and psoriasis. Lavender is one of our staple ingredients and can be found in our Nourish Exfoliate Mask.

By using natural beauty and wellness products, not only are we reaping the benefits for our skin, it’s doing the planet a whole lot of good too.

Love Jane  x
