Making space in each day just for yourself is vital to help alleviate stress, so today I’m sharing some of my self-care tips that can be easily incorporated into your daily routine to become the best version of yourself.
Do Things You Enjoy
This is crucial for creating a sustainable self-care routine. Going for a daily jog is a great way to feel energised, but if you don’t enjoy running, you’ll struggle to find the motivation. The key to sticking to a routine is finding something that you love doing, that makes you happy and that you look forward to at the end of a long day. A gentle walk, reading or listening to a podcast, or even an online workout or yoga class are all perfect ways to destress.
Organisation is Key
If we don’t consciously make space for self-care, the likelihood is that we probably never will. Make sure that you schedule some time in your calendar and set reminders if you need to. If you enjoy cooking, create a healthy, wholesome meal plan at the start of each week. This will keep you motivated to make delicious meals and fuel your body with the nutrients it needs.
Don’t Overcomplicate It
It’s important to remember that self-care doesn’t have to be long, complicated or expensive. Implementing a self-care routine helps you to relax, so make it as simple as you need it to be to fit in with your lifestyle. Making a list of the things you are grateful for each morning or meditating for 10 minutes before bedtime are simple, free and can completely transform your mindset.
There are days when practising self-care will be easier than others. Life will always get in the way! Try not to be too hard on yourself. Don’t get caught up in worrying about missing a workout or forgetting to fill in your journal. A new day is a fresh start, so begin each morning with a positive mindset for the day that lies ahead.
